So everybody has jumped on the Kaioshin > Piccolo bandwagon, huh? I choose not to believe it, I'll admit that. |

Piccolo didn't forfeit out of respect. How could he forfeit out of respect for a deity when, at the time, he doesn't know who or what Kaioshin is? Piccolo didn't forfeit because of a power difference. He could not measure Kaioshin. No one could. Piccolo forfeited because for some reason beyond his understanding, his instincts were telling him not to fight Kaioshin. He is unable to attack and cannot completely grasp what he's feeling or who Kaioshin is... and thus he steps down. His instincts were likely influenced by Kami's knowledge and previous interactions with inhabitants of the afterlife. Later, post-forfeit, he calmed himself and attempted to decipher why he was unable to battle Kaioshin... coming to the conclusion that he was likely a high ranked deity... and he was correct (though his guess was a little off) |

Piccolo says "Our dimensions are too different" which could be code for power, but isn't necessarily. I think it's important to note that Vegeta says later that Kaioshin isn't anything special, at least by their standard. I know they are Super Saiyans, but it's an interesting quote. |

Base Goku (Boo saga) > SSJ Goku (Kaioshin's expectation) > Kaioshin > Base Goku (Kaioshin's prediction) At least, imo anyway. All depends on where ya stand on Piccolo Vs Base Saiyans'. |

It's certainly been used as a power comparison in the past but in this particular context it seems much more like a convenient excuse. |

No guys. Piccolo said their dimensions are too different because Kaioshin is a 4th dimensional being.

Well even if he couldn't flat out say who Kaioshin was, Kaioshin stated Piccolo must have started realizing who he was, and the first thing Piccolo does after the match is ask Kaioshin if he is Dai Kaio, hence why I think it's related to "respect", or at least the "respect thing" holds more weight than "power difference". |
